Letter from Silva C, a volunteer
Dear Dr. Sujit, Barnali & all IIMC members,
Meeting you has been a great experience. I had no expectations in the beginning or some confusing ones at the most. But if I had any, I think they’ve been more than exceeded because I’ve learnt on infinite numbers of things and my horizons and my way of seeing and approaching the world have broadened immensely. Seeing the rural villages, the outdoor clinics, the schools, the women empowerment oriented programmes and all the core and commitment of the people involved have literally touched my heart and upset me from the deep inside.
I had never seen so much poverty, difficulties and lacks and so much strength, hope and success at the same time. Because IIMC is a story of success written and performed through small steps but each one with great love. I’m happy of having been, maybe, at least one page or one time of this story, which will continue endlessly. You’ve been an example of life for me, in this month I’ve grown intellectually and emotionally, thanks to the experiences in the field, the contact with great people like you and from you I’ve learnt so much.
At the end of this month, I can say that I’ve grown so fond of you and have perceived a family atmosphere, which I am sorry to leave. I am sure, therefore, that this will not be goodbye and I hope one day soon to be able to come back and write a further page of this wonderful story.
Thank you for welcoming me and allowing me to be part of your simple and high mission! I will be grateful to you for this forever! See you soon in Europe or in India!
