Laurie has been a trustee of IIMC UK since its very beginning, and at 102 years old he is one of our most cherished pillars of support. His generosity over the decades has helped shape the growth of IIMC’s healthcare mission in rural West Bengal, and his commitment is now permanently recognised at the new pharmacy in Tegharia, where a plaque on the wall honours his lifetime of contribution.

The Tegharia Outdoor Centre is one of five outdoor clinics supported by IIMC UK, alongside Hogolkuria, Chakberia, Challapara, and Dhaki. These centres form the backbone of community healthcare in their regions, offering far more than basic medical services. Each clinic provides pathology tests, blood pressure monitoring, immunisations, blood sample testing, X‑ray facilities, dental and eye check‑ups, gynaecological services, nursing care, and both pre‑natal and post‑natal support for mothers.

Every clinic also runs a vital nutritional programme to ensure that malnourished children and pregnant mothers receive the food and care they need to thrive.
